The Colorado Diversity Initiative at CU Boulder is dedicated to empowering undergraduate students from historically excluded and intentionally marginalized backgrounds in STEM, who are keenly interested in pursuing research and graduate-level studies.

°Õ³ó±ðÌýSummer Multicultural Access to AVÃûʪ Training (SMART) Program is anÌýesteemed 10-week residential experience that invites undergraduates from across the country to our campus, offering them the opportunity to delve into STEM research under the guidance of our distinguished faculty mentors and to sculpt a robust foundation for their graduate studies.

The SMART Program, targeting rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors, is committed to developing a diverse group of undergraduates for doctoral studies and successful careers in STEM fields. As part of the Leadership Alliance initiative, SMART encourages applications from all undergraduates, extending a particular welcome to those from groups historically and intentionally excluded from STEM research fields.
