Whew鈥攚hat an October!聽聽After an amazing week of family activities and聽Halloween听补苍诲听Homecoming聽around the corner, we certainly have a robust line up of fall events. Personally, I am grateful that I was able to be in community with so many of you and your families earlier this month.聽It was a true treat to connect with so many of you, learn what you have grown to love about CU Boulder and to see campus through your family's eyes. There is certainly more to come over the next couple of months!聽From Oct. 30 through Nov. 4, there will be many opportunities to enjoy free food, pick up CU Boulder swag and celebrate school spirit with your fellow Buffs, as your CU Student Government has been working hard to present聽Homecoming Spirit Week. I hope to see you around as we 鈥渓et the good times roam!鈥澛犅

As the leaves change, it signals our transition to autumn and its coming months. This is also a time when you may be starting to think about what spring will bring. Before you do that, take a moment to think about how far you have come thus far. What are you proud of? What are some of your most defining moments this semester? What will you do differently next term? What traditions have you participated in that have made your CU experience special? How have you contributed to your Buff community?聽What is one challenge you overcame?聽聽

Course registration starts soon, and I encourage you to reflect on your academic journey so far. Taking time to think about where you are and create intentions for the future can help you make the most of your time here at CU Boulder. One benefit of being a Buff is that you get to shape your academic journey to match your individual needs. You could consider changing your degree, adding a second major or minor, completing a certificate program or finding a student group focused on your interests. As you explore your options, know that you are not alone in figuring things out. Our聽Career Services聽team is here to help you determine your goals and prepare for life after graduation, in addition to your academic advisor.聽聽

As you consider your plans for spring, know there are many ways to enrich your semester and learn outside the classroom. Internships, volunteering, education abroad, employment are all聽transformative opportunities聽that allow for skill development and personal growth.聽聽聽聽聽聽
