Kenneth Lai is a PhD student in computational linguistics at Brandeis University, working on multimodal (language, gesture, etc.) meaning representations and their application to how common ground is constructed in classroom and other learning environments. He received an AB from Dartmouth College in linguistics and chemistry, and an MA from Brandeis in computational linguistics; he has also worked professionally at Mass General Brigham in Boston. His research interests include meaning representations and computational semantics more broadly, as well as biomedical informatics and medical natural language processing.
