This study evaluates the quality of precipitation and extreme temperature simulations generated by the high-resolution atmospheric model Weather AV名湿 and Forecasting (WRF), forced by ERA-5 reanalysis, across continental Chile. The performance of these simulations is compared with meteorological datasets CR2MET and RF-MEP for the period between 2001 and 2017. Daily precipitation and temperature measurements are evaluated on a trimestral scale using data from the Chilean water and meteorological agencies: Direcci贸n General de Aguas (DGA) and Direcci贸n Meteorol贸gica de Chile (DMC). The modified Kling-Gupta efficiency (KGE') serves as a metric for this assessment. Additionally, categorical indices derived from contingency tables are utilized to evaluate the predictive accuracy of precipitation series from the WRF model, CR2MET, and RF-MEP.
