Dylan Gowins is a Mathematics, Neuroscience, and Psychology major at the University of Colorado Boulder. This diverse area of study stems from his passion toward learning and understanding the world around him, and he hopes to work in the intersection of these interests in the fields of computational & theoretical neuroscience. He is from Colorado, and hopes to stay in the area post-graduation. In addition to McNair, he is also a member of the Miramontes Arts & Sciences Program and the Presidents Leadership Class. In his spare time, Dylan enjoys music, literature, and the outdoors.

Dylan works in the Behavioral Neuroendocrinology Laboratory Directed by his faculty mentor, Dr. Christopher Lowry. This lab focuses on the connection between stress physiology, peripheral immune activation, and emotional behavior. Dylan’s research focused specifically on the causes and effects of fear sensitization in rodents. This research has been very interdisciplinary, utilizing behavioral neuroscience, molecular biology, and immunophysiology.
