B.S. Chemistry: University of Florida, 2011

Aaron Crossman grew up in south Florida and received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Florida in 2011.聽 During this time, he was a research assistant at the Florida Center for Heterocyclic Compounds under the direction of Prof. Alan Katritzky.聽 His undergraduate thesis was conducted on oligopeptide synthesis and macrocyclization.聽聽From 2012 to 2015, Aaron worked as a research scientist at IRIX Manufacturing, Inc., a fine chemical contract manufacturing firm located in Greenville, South Carolina.聽 His day-to-day included benchtop research, GMP lab-scale production, and fixed equipment manufacturing.聽 With the staff's abundant support, he applied to many graduate schools and chose to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Aaron Crossman is currently a 5th year doctoral student in the Marshak research group at the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute in Boulder, Colorado.聽 His current research interests include ligand design and synthesis, transition metal catalysis, and organic flow battery technology.聽 An organic chemist by training, he is constantly excited by the synthetic challenges presented by inorganic and organometallic chemistry.聽 He doesn't understand why inorganic chemists don't optimize their reactions.
