Hello! My name is Derek Finke, the Associate Director of Educational Initiatives at CU Boulder. I earned my BS in Ecology and Evolution at UC Santa Cruz, my Masters in Student Affairs and Higher Education from UCLA, and my PhD in Higher Education at the University of Georgia where my dissertation focused on the social construction of sexual violence on college and university campuses. I am passionate about higher education policy, advocating for justice, and teaching. Outside of my work I enjoy balancing many nerdy and outdoorsy activities, including: board/video games, hiking, reading, biking, and rock climbing.
