My research is focused on experimental and theoretical characterization of electrocatalytic systems. I am currently working on characterizing the effect of cathodic corrosion on the mechanism of reduction of biomass-derived compounds like levulinic acid, and the electrochemical聽reduction of聽carboxylic acids in strongly acidic, non-aqueous media. In the Musgrave Group, I use Grand Canonical Density Functional Theory (GC-DFT) simulations to study elementary reactions involved in cathodic corrosion and reduction of organics at lead electrodes while considering solvation and applied potential on聽surface. I am also interested in transport phenomena聽and multiphysics simulation of porous media systems.聽

About me: I love spending time outdoors - may it be hiking through mountains聽on weekends, or walking around Boulder in the dark on a sleepness night,聽looking for places with good late night snacks, or trying to set new records on the amount of time it takes me to bike along the creek path to the department.聽On low energy days, I like to sit inside and spend time gaming (favorites include Halo, Bethesda RPGs聽and other first-person聽story-driven games) or catching up on current events and politics. I love spicy food, pizza and ice cream!聽
