Steven Latimer is a second-year PhD student at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Steven graduated from the Clarkson University Honors Program with degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and Physics. He then worked for several years as a systems engineer at General Dynamics Electric Boat, working on compressed gas systems for nuclear submarines. His interest in space exploration led him to pursue graduate studies at CU Boulder, where he aims to do research work that contributes to spacecraft technology and related sciences. Interest in hypersonic flight, spacecraft re-entry, propulsion systems, and fluid mechanics led him to join the Magnetoaerodynamics and Aerospace Plasmas LaboratoryÌýat CU Boulder, where he hopes to study plasma physics topics with aerospace applications while advancing his hands-on and experimental research skills.
