What is International Education Week? (IEW)

The Offices of Education Abroad and International Student & Scholar Services invite the university community to celebrate (IEW) Nov. 15-19, 2021.

IEW, a joint initiative organized by the U.S. Departments of State and U.S. Department of Education, International Education Week serves as “an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide and promotes programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences.”

CU Boulder hosts local events as ais the annual celebration of international education and worldwide cultural exchange on campus.

Photo Submission and Sharing Event

We invite our international students and scholars to submit a photograph and caption that captures your international education experience. Photos will be collected and shared throughout the week via the ISSS and EA instagram feeds throughout the week. The deadline to submit your photos is Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11:59 p.m.

When: Monday, November 15, 2021 from 12 to 1 p.m.

Where: UMC 247

Join ISSS forPizza and Perspectives(P&P) featuring a panel of students from West Africa.

P&P is a lunchtime gathering featuring a panel of students from a specific region. Hear different international student perspectives on culture, their lives here in the U.S., and their lives back home while you enjoy a slice of pizza, and the opportunity to ask your own questions. Unwritten Rules of the U.S. Job Market:

When: Monday, November 15, 2021 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Where: Zoom

Join members of Career Services for an interactive workshop on the “Unwritten Rules of the U.S. Job Market.” This workshop is meant to help international students understand strategies for navigating a job search in the U.S. In this 60-minute workshop we will focus on U.S. cultural norms as related to networking, career fairs, and the job search process. We hope you can join us!


Asian Studies at CU

When: Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.

Where: Via Zoom

The Center for Asian Studies will be hosting an "Asian Studies at CU" information session for undergraduates interested in study abroad and work opportunities in Asia.Speakers from the Center for Asian Studies, Academic Advising, Education Abroad, Career Services, and the Office of Top Scholarships will be in attendance.

A networking lunch opportunity for international graduate students and postdocs. Lunch will be served. Registration through Eventbrite is required due to limited availability, tickets available through November 9th or until we sell out. Study Abroad 101:

When: Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 4 to 5 p.m.

Learn about program options, fulfilling degree requirements, costs, financial aid, scholarship opportunities, next steps, and how to apply.


When: Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 4 p.m.

Where: The HIVE @ALTEC Hellems 159

Are you interested in playing games from countries around the world or in different languages? Join ALTEC, our world language departments, faculty, and students at International Game Night! All languages and levels are welcome!”


When: Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 1 p.m.

Where: Zoom

International students come and get your U.S. Health and insurance questions answered. This collaborative event between ISSS and Health & Wellness will feature the answers that you've been looking for! From the difference to in-network vs. out-of-network to bills, and how to talk to doctors in the U.S., this information session will cover many topics. Make sure to also bring questions since the latter half of the session will be dedicated to questions from students.
