Within the admin structure of the college, divisional deans听will be making financial and other decisions that impact departments听and each division more broadly. As an example, in the past the听Dean听for Natural Sciences advocated for and successfully got an increase in grad student stipends for the Natural Sciences division, above the university base stipend rates.听

Dear students,
We are conducting a search for the new dean of the division of arts and humanities in the College of Arts and Sciences. We are contacting you to gather the student point of view. We encourage you to submit feedback through a survey at听听up to 11:59 p.m. Feb. 24. The survey solicits your views about the following:
- The greatest opportunities for the division of arts and humanities.
- The most pressing challenges for the division.
- The most immediate priorities the new dean will address.
- The professional attributes, experiences and qualifications the new dean should possess.
- And any other feedback.
Additionally, the survey has a place to submit nominations for candidates for dean of the division.
Finally, the search committee will hold a second listening session on February 16 from 11am-12pm. Zoom information for attending the session will be made available closer to that date.
