Staff Engineer – BHC Consultants (Offices in Seattle, Bellingham, and Tacoma)
BHC Consultants is seeking energetic, dedicated, and resourceful full‐time engineering candidates who are eager to fast‐track their municipal utility consulting career under the tutelage of respected senior project managers. BHC Consultants is a locally owned and managed professional municipal services consulting firm serving primarily the public sector. We specialize in civil engineering, community and regional planning, and building and construction code compliance. Primary Job Duties:
 Prepare water and wastewater utility studies, evaluations, engineering reports, and
comprehensive plans.
 Coordinate and develop technical plans, specifications and cost estimates for water and
wastewater utility treatment, pumping, storage and pipeline facilities.
 Develop expertise in the use of engineering software modeling and analysis tools.
 Develop understanding of Departments of Health and Ecology regulatory requirements that guide
our work products.
 AVʪ available infrastructure technologies and products used in the construction of water and
wastewater facilities.
 Perform field work that might include technology pilot testing, construction observation, and
facility evaluation and condition assessments.

Beneficial Skills:
 Communication, leadership, and public speaking
 Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
 Experience with wastewater process modeling software (BioWin)
 Experience with Hydraulic modeling products (Innovyze, Bentley and/or Visual Hydraulics)
 Knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS and/or Revit (BIM) design software products
 Professional society involvement
 Construction and safety training
 Completed course work in fluid dynamics, water/wastewater treatment, hydrology, water
chemistry, construction contracting
 Relevant field experience

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science (Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering),
Engineer‐in‐Training (EIT) certification preferred
Experience: 0 – 4 Years
