DPS students to visit campus for Spanish Heritage Language and Culture Day on May 15

Hundreds of Denver Public School students visited CU Boulder on May 15 for an annual competitive event designed to showcase their creative talents and to encourage them to pursue higher education after high school. Students competed in categories such as poetry, art, speech, creative writing, cultural dancing and culinary dishes during the annual Spanish Heritage Language and Culture Day.

The five founding faculty members of the Renée Crown Wellness Institute, established by philanthropist Patricia Crown, include: Professors Sona Dimidjian, Erik Willcutt and Yuko Munakata from arts and sciences, and Professor Ben Kirshner and Dean Kathy Schultz from education.

Thanks to the generosity of CU Boulder supporters Suzanne and Dave Hoover, the School of Education is well on its way to getting a new home featuring state-of-the-art learning labs and dynamic collaborative spaces. The Hoovers are donating $2.5 million toward a renovation project that will help the school transform space in its future new home to reflect its mission of excellence and innovation in education.
