The Fulbright program sends 800 U.S. faculty members and professionals abroad each year and is intended for candidates who wish to conduct research, teach or undertake a combination of both at an academic institution of their choice in a host country. Fellows lecture and conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields. CU Boulder has had more than 100 Fulbright fellows since 1982. Pat Kociolek heads to Szczecin, Poland to continue research on algal biofuels, diatomes and phylogenetic bioprospecting.
