As the Sherman R. Miller Executive Director of the Michael A. Klump Center for Real Estate, Julie Gibson works closely with faculty and staff to carry out the Center鈥檚 mission to serve students and industry alike, through experiential learning opportunities, innovative partnerships with CRE firms, and thought leadership. Ms. Gibson manages the 60-member International Advisory Board, Center events, and works collaboratively with CU Advancement to raise funds for the听Center. She is passionate about students and works to provide access and opportunities for students to launch and advance their careers in CRE.听
Prior to joining the听Klump Center for Real Estate, Ms. Gibson helped launch the Center for Real Estate at Portland State University in 2006, and held the role of Executive Director of the Center from 2012-2023. Ms. Gibson served on the advisory boards of NAIOP Portland and CREW Portland (2018 President) and was a founding member of the Oregon CoreNet chapter.听
Prior to academia, Ms. Gibson spent 10 years in banking and affordable housing lending and syndication at PNC Bank in Portland, Oregon and First Federal Savings and Loan in Santa Monica, California. Ms. Gibson is a Los Angeles native, and received a B.S. in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and an MBA from Portland State University. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, cooking, swimming, church activities, and doing anything in the Colorado sunshine.
